Gold And Silver Prices Decline Today At Multi Commodity Exchange
At Multi Commodity Exchange, Gold and Silver prices are down today. The precious metal, for August contract, down by 0.12 percent and trading at 71,708 rupees per 10 grams.
Silver for July contract, decreased 0.21 percent and trading at 88,815 rupees per kilogram when the reports last came in.
In the global markets, gold was trading 0.07 percent down at 2,342 dollars and 70 cents per ounce on Comex. Meanwhile, Silver was trading up by 0.09 percent at 29 dollars and 88 cents per ounce in the intra-day session, when the reports last came in.
Sensex Rises 712 Points & Nifty Gains 183 Points
India’s Equity Benchmark Indices, Sensex and Nifty ended in the positive territory today after a firm trading session. The Sensex rose 712 points, or 0.92%, to close at 78,054. Nifty gained 183 points, or 0.78%, to settle at 23,721.

In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index was down by 0.26 percent & the Small-cap index was marginally down by 0.03 percent.
15 out of 30 companies registered gains in the Sensex index. The top three gainers today were Axis Bank 3.40 percent, ICICI Bank 2.48 percent and HDFC Bank 2.32 percent.
Conversely, the three major laggards were, Powegrid 1.64 percent, Tata Steel 1.24 percent and Asian Paints 1.16 percent.
In Sectoral Indices at the BSE, 13 out of 20 Sectors were negative. The top three gainers were, Bankex sector 1.87 percent, Financial Services 1.45 percent and Information Technology sector 0.53 percent.
Whereas, Realty sector 1.82 percent, Power sector 1.05 percent and Utilities sector 0.95 percent were the three major laggards.
The overall Market breadth was negative. Out of 4,000 Companies, the shares of 1808 companies advanced, 2075 declined and 117 remain unchanged.
