India Wins Record 5th Men’s Asian Champions Trophy Title
In Hockey, India lifted the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy for a record fifth time after defeating the hosts China 1-Nil at Hulunbuir this evening.
In a high-intensity clash, India’s Jugraj Singh slotted home the only goal of the game in the fourth quarter. Team India, who were the defending champions, are the most successful team in the competition with five titles.
The Men in Blue were playing in their sixth Asian Champions Trophy hockey final from the eight editions held so far. China made their maiden appearance in the final.
India defeated China 1-0 in an entertaining match as they sealed a record fifth title at the regional competition. The victory came shortly after they won bronze at the Summer Olympics in Paris last month.
