Supreme Court Refuses To Hear On Urgent Basis Petition Of Arvind Kejriwal

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to hear on an urgent basis the petition of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal challenging Delhi High Court’s observation on his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the Excise Policy case.

The Apex Court also did not specify whether the matter will be heard today.

Mentioning the plea before the Apex court, senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “This is an urgent mentioning regarding Delhi chief minister.

The arrest is based on an unrelied document and suppressed from us.” The case was brought up before the Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud.

In response, CJI Chandrachud refused to hear the petition on an urgent basis and did not specify whether the matter will be heard today.

During the hearing, the CJI advised Chief Minister’s counsel to send an email and the court would look into the matter.
